Daily Check-In on Google Classroom
In each Google Classroom is a tab for a 'Daily Check-in'. We ask that all children complete this every day by 12pm.
The check-in allows your child to tell us how they feel that day, comment on their readiness for learning, request contact from a member of staff and to say if there is anything else that they need.
We are using the daily check-in as a whole school register to support our safeguarding and child protection.
The office staff track who completes these and will make contact (from 12pm onwards) with the parents of children who have not checked in. This will be an email to a parent from the office email address or from Mrs Paton (who makes our attendance calls normally). We have been flexible with the timing to support working families and home routines.
Your child's teacher(s), Mrs Naismith and I also monitor the check-ins to ensure the children and supported with their mental and emotional health. Someone will respond to any child who has requested support or indicates that they are not feeling OK.
We ask for your support in reminding your child to complete their check-in or to help younger children to do this. Please do not be offended if you get an email when your child has submitted a task that day or commented in the chat stream but has not completed the check-in. The staff are working in different locations and it is not feasible for the office to contact each class teacher to clarify which children have been 'active' in the Google Classroom. The exception to this are children who are attending the childcare provision in school.
Thank you for your support.
